The National Eligibility Screening Test, or NEST, is a competitive test that evaluates candidates only on their ability to comprehend fundamental scientific principles. NEST is primarily provided as a prerequisite for enrollment in these two prestigious institutes' five-year integrated Master of Science programmes in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. A total score of 50 is achieved by earning 17 points for each question. The top three sections out of the four will be selected from a total of 200 marks for the entire paper.

NEST (National Eligibility Screening Test) is a competitive examination of the country purely based on the adequate understanding of the candidates related to basic concepts of science. NEST is mainly offered as a qualifying test for admission to a 5-year integrated M.Sc. in these two high-standing institutes’s programs in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Each question is worth 17 points, for a total score of 50. The entire paper is marked out at 200 marks, but the best three sections out of the four will make the top list.
