Which has more scope - Msc In Microbiology or Msc In Bio.technology ?

Hi, Biotechnology, being an interdisciplinary subject with diverse areas of study, its procedures apply themselves to a wide range of fields.  Some of the fields of specialization are Molecular Biology; Microbiology; Biochemistry; Biophysics; Botany and so on. And as far as employment is concerned, it has become the second fastest growing sector after multi-media. With a postgraduate degree in biotechnology you can get absorbed in corporate and government sector, both. Qualified biotechnologists are employed in leading Indian business houses and MNCs including pharmaceutical companies, chemical industries, bioprocessing industries, agriculture related industries and pollution control activities of the major industries etc. You can even join government and corporate run research and development organizations. Where as if you specialize in microbiology you can find jobs in many places like research and development laboratories of government and private hospitals, research organisations, pharmaceutical, food, beverage and chemical industries. Being closely related to biotechnology, there are many similarities between them, making microbiology also a very promising career option. A steep rise in employment avenues for microbiologists is envisaged as a result of growing numbers of above. Hence there are a number of options in both these fields. then u go for msc microbiology only bcoz biotechnology has no job opportunities in india Microbiology is also a very promising career option . Some of the career options available to microbiologists are :Bacteriologists, Environmental Microbiologists , Food Microbiologists, Industrial microbiologists,Medical Microbiologists ,Mycologists, Cell Biologists, Geneticists, Immunologists, Parasitologists, Teachers,Virologists. Areas where you can work after completing your studies are: Vaccines Producing Companies,Medical Diagnosis, Immune technology Laboratory, Chemotherapy / Drug Designing, Food Processing Industry, Quality Control Laboratory, Production of Antibiotics , Plant & Tissue Culture, Nanotechnology, Drug Deliveryin cell technology, Beverages & Drinks, Planning /Patent Offices, Bio Fertilizers. All the universities offercourses in microbiology. All the Best!
