This is a very selective niche and at least LPU does not have its course and I'm not sure about MIT so you can look out for other colleges that specifically say petroleum university because there are many of those around here.

Lovely Professional University is the best engineering college in India. LPU becomes the best place to pursue an engineering degree with highly qualified teaching staff, best laboratories, and modern technologies. LPU provides abundant opportunities for students to think out of the box. They can secure their future by getting these opportunities. Placements at LPU are best-ever achievements. Also, in my view, I think you should not worry about the placements. If you work hard in the course and learn as much as you can, any company visiting the campus would be happy to hire you. However, you must not neglect polishing your communication

Both are equally good, but I must say Petroleum Engineering is purely centered on integrated approaches of Sciences and Engineering practices in the Oil & Gas Industry. This involves technological undertakings and emphasis of the same in the application of the concepts in Petroleum Exploration, Drilling, Production, Reservoir Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, Refinery Operations, LNG Value Chain, Petrochemicals and Natural Gas Processing. Students in the petroleum engineering programme will be engaged on a holistic journey of the entire value chain of the O&G Industry beginning from the exploration of hydrocarbons to the supply of fin

Both universities are really doing good in the field of education. If you want to pursue your degree from a private university then you should check the latest rankings of the university and in that case, LPU is really doing good. As LPU alumni, I will say LPU is best for B.Tech courses. Petroleum engineers have come a long way from just drilling a hole underground to produce oil by its natural energy, to very knowledgeable enhanced oil technology, to pushing oil from an injector well to a producer. There are even more challenging tasks ahead for a young graduate in petroleum engineering today. Petroleum engineering education provides a wide spectrum of specialties to keep the industry running. These are reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, and production engineering to name a few. A reservoir engineer determines the oil in place and devises the most app

Petroleum Engineering is one of the most interesting and rewarding career opportunities available to engineering students in India. The rising scarcity of petroleum products coupled with expansion in search operations for new petroleum sources has brought the field again in the limelight. Though both the universities mentioned above are good in terms of academic structure but being an alumni of LPU let me explain the things in detail. This Programme in Petroleum Engineering is purely centred on integrated approaches of Sciences and Engineering practises in the Oil & Gas Industry. For B.Tech petroleum engineering, LPU is a better choice as it has its most experienced faculty members and all the modern technologies and practical exposure to the subject. LPU has earned many affiliations, recognitions and accreditation and still working for more. Even the placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked the 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records.

Yes, of course. You can definitely get admission to the BTech in Petroleum Engineering course without giving the entrance exam. There are more than 30 colleges that give admission to the course on the basis of Class 12 board exam marks and may take extra rounds like the GD or PI in such cases.

Interestingly, there are around 12 colleges in Tamil Nadu where students can into top institutions via the TNEA Counselling after Class 12.

The level of competitiveness and difficulty of the entrance exams for BTech Petroleum Engineering depends on the specific exam, whether it is conducted at the national/state/college levels, the number of student applications in general, and the estimated number of seats available for the course at top colleges. But, in general the national-level entrances are considered to be highly competitive and require extra effort from your end.
