Hi Bhavya, The choice lies with you only. But you should be aware that NIIT University is also a private university founded in 2009. It is located in Neemrana Rajasthan. Thus, it is younger in age and experience both. LPU is putting more efforts than some of the NIT's or even young IIT's. There are many things on which a subjective comparison can be made such as:
1. Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology UG Programs have been designed primarily to suit the needs of the students who aspire to be the future engineers, managers or entrepreneurs with a strong grounding in accounting and finance.
2. Developing analytical, communication and decision making skills of students is an important focus area throughout the duration of the programme.
3. The students are encouraged to undertake assignments/project work from the industry and work towards finding possible solutions to integrate their theoretical knowledge with industrial practices.
4. Keeping in view the employment potential, in-depth knowledge is provided to the students through department electives in computer networks, artificial intelligence, databases and information systems as well as computer programming and algorithms.
5. Students are exposed too the fields like cloud computing, IoT, data Science, Machine Learning, Big Data and many more
6. Adding to the above, more than 650 companies (more than 90% being MNC's) visit every year for campus-recruitment of students from LPU. The companies which have visited as of now are: Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Amazon, Cognizant Technology Solutions, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amdocs, Capgemini, Verizon, SAP Labs, Hitachi Power, Videocon, L&T Technology Services, Ericsson, HCL Technologies, Asahi India, Ceasefire Industries, Sandhar Technologies, Indus tower, Decathlon Sports, Exide Industries, Emami, Eye-Q Vision, ITC Limited, Janalakshmai Financial Services, Kelloggs, MRF, Naukri, Moodys Analytics, WNS Global, Writer Corporation, Nivesh Group, OCWEN Financial, Practo and many more. LPU believes in delivering the quality. For same, the university has hired faculty from the reputed institutes like IITs, NITs etc. The syllabus is vetted from the company officials of Cognozant, SAP, Microsoft etc. To provide updated curriculum. LPU has his own space shuttle programme, where students and faculty members are working on satellite programme with the joint help of ISRO. Hi, In the era of cut-throat competition, every institution is floating CSE and considers it a flagship course and claims that the institute is providing the best. Still, the best gets converted into the worst when it comes to the application part. Therefore, the only institute that comes to my mind is LPU. LPU's placement record is generally strong but varies by course and student performance. Top branches like CSE, IT, and some core engineering and management programs see better placements, with big companies like Microsoft, Google (via off-campus), Amazon, Cognizant, Accenture, and Infosys visiting over the years. A few students do get very high packages, but these are exceptions, not the norm. Many students get average packages in the range of 4–6 LPA, especially in mass-recruitment roles. Your skills, internships, projects, communication, and networking matter more than just the college name, even at LPU or any other university.
