MD is a postgraduate degree that focuses on medical specialities. It is usually pursued by doctors who want to specialize in clinical and non-surgical fields. On the other hand, MS is a postgraduate degree that emphasizes surgical specialities. It is pursued by doctors who are interested in becoming surgical specialists and performing surgical procedures.
