A civil engineer helps design and create buildings, infrastructure and other large-scale structural projects. Mechanical engineers, on the other hand, help design and create machines and mechanical devices for individuals or small groups. For example, civil engineers may use analytical data to build a twelve-story building. In contrast, mechanical engineers may use their analytic findings to develop various systems within the building, such as elevators.
Both are fine in their respective field rather it depends upon your interest. It's LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY which you should consider as the best University to study Civil Engineer

While comparing civil vs. mechanical engineering yields some similarities, the biggest difference between the two careers is what professionals in the field engineer. A civil engineer helps design and create buildings, infrastructure and other large-scale structural projects. Mechanical and civil engineering are very popular yet unique engineering fields. Both are very wide in scope and also share some common grounds. In the area of fluid mechanics and hydraulics, both overlap a great deal. I would like to say that LPU offers B.Tech in various programs such as CSE, EE, ECE, ME, CE, Automobile, Chemical, Aerospace, Biotechnology, etc.

Dear Ashish, With better and broader subjects, Mechanical engineering offers better scope than civil engineering. Civil engineering primarily targets a field whereas Mechanical engineering can be further divided into a variety of fields. My cousin did B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at LPU. I will tell you why mechanical engineering is better at LPU. LPU is a well renowned private university in India with 30K+ students all across the world and with 4000 experienced faculty members and staff members. Dear Ashish, If you get overwhelmed by the structures and construction, civil engineering is the one for you. If you are intrigued by machine designs, their mechanics, and dynamics, go for mechanical engineering. LPU is the best engineering college in India. LPU becomes the best place to pursue an engineering degree with highly qualified teaching staff, best laboratories, and modern technologies. LPU provides abundant opportunities for students to think out of the box. Both are good streams but it depends on your interest as to which stream you want to join and interested in. The stream depends upon your interest. However, in today's world, both are equally important and growing. Check the link of both streams and compare to get the final one:

    Hi Ashish,
Both the branches of engineering are equally good and have tremendous job opportunities. It entirely depends on how well you understand and handle the stream and increase your scope of growth. Different branches of engineering are popular at different places and the popularity depends upon the day to day requirement of that place.
