If we talk about the acceptance rate of University of Melbourne, then the university is lightly selective with an acceptance rate of around 70%. On the other hand, the acceptance rate of RMIT University is around 22%. However, when it comes to QS World University Rankings, then the University of Melbourne ranks much better than RMIT. In 2023 QS rankings, RMIT ranks at 190th position, whereas, the University of Melbourne ranks at #33rd position. Even in the Times Higher Education Rankings, the University of Melbourne ranks better as it is placed at the 34th position in 2023, whereas, RMIT University ranks at #301-350th position in 2023. The choice to study at any of the university is dependent on the choice of the course in which a student wants to study eventually.
