Though each of these institutions are ranked among the best institutions in their respective countries, acceptance rates vary due to a combination of factors such as: number of applications recieved, availability of seats & some other private & governmental policies.
Nanyang's acceptance rate stands at around 47%, while ETH Zurich has an acceptance rate of 27%. This suggests securing admissions at NTU is less competitive than its Swiss counterpart.
