I personally believe that every branch has a scope if you have a strong orientation and you don't leave any stone unturned learn it. To start with Civil engineering is the professional practice of designing and developing infrastructure projects. This can be on a huge scale, such as the development of nationwide transport systems or water supply networks, or on a smaller scale, such as the development of single roads or buildings whereas Computer engineering concerns the design and prototyping of computing hardware and software. On the basis of feedback from the students of LPU, the university provides following:

LPU is good for both options, but if your son is more interested in computers, coding, and the tech industry, then CSE at LPU is the better choice due to its strong placements, modern curriculum, and global exposure, while Civil Engineering at Thapar is also respected and solid for those passionate about core engineering—so it mainly depends on his interest, though LPU provides excellent opportunities in both fields.
