    NIT-Kurukshetra is the best option for CSE/IT.

    Yes, NIT-Surathkal is one of the top 5 NITs. B.Tech CSE in NIT, Surathkal is the desired branch of many JEE aspirants after NIT, Trichy. So if you are getting CSE in NITK then don't lose that opportunity.
