If you compare on the basis of placements of CSE, then IITD somehow outperformance IITK. Here is quick comparison between two. Both the IITs are good but in my opinion, IIT Delhi is better for B.Tech in CSE than IIT Kanpur because IIT Delhi provides good infrastructure, good course curriculum, good CSE faculty members and good computer labs also.

Majority of the software giants and finance and consulting companies from silicon valley come here, be it Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Adobe, Visa, IBM or Goldman Sachs, Softbank, World Bank, Tower Research and McKinsey and a lot more hire from the college for Indian and International roles like Software Developer, Business Intelligence, Analysts, Consultants, Project managers and Program Managers profiles. IIT-Kanpur is better as compared to IIT-Delhi. You may check following information regarding their departments. About CSE in IIT-Kanpur The department has one of the best undergraduate programs in the country. The course curriculum for the undergraduate program gives the flexibility to the students to prepare for advanced specializations. The department commits to offer a set of electives so that students can plan their academic program in advance. The course structure provides a right mix of compulsory and elective courses. About CSE in IIT-Delhi The recently revised curriculum has reduced course load and greater emphasis on design and project work. It emphasizes the need for independent thinking and encourages students to get involved in interesting and novel projects. Further, a significant increase in the open category credits enables students to have a broad base and pursue interests and develop expertise in other areas like Mathematics, Communications, Signal Processing, Bio-informatics, Robotics, Management, etc. In addition to core Computer Science. The ranking of IIT-Kanpur is above to IIT-Delhi too. If you would consider location wise then I would say Delhi has a location advantage as compared to Kanpur. All kinds of student fests keep on happening round the year. All the top recruiters come to both IITs for CSE.
