Dear Vaibhavi, SRM and LPU are well-known private universities in India for higher education and doing well. Coming to the mechanical engineering programme, being alumni of LPU. I would share details of this programme at LPU as my friend did B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from LPU itself. LPU has ranked 66th in the engineering category by NIRF-2021 rankings. LPU ranks amongst the Top 200 universities globally as per the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, which assess universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Mechanical school of LPU has well-qualified and experi...more

I had the same question when I was looking out for college for my B.Tech I was confused between Delhi Technological University, Delhi, and Lovely Professional University Phagwara. But after discussions, thinking, and recommendations from my relatives ( Allummni of LPU) I joined LPU. It was actually a great decision. As per my experience, LPU is the best place for engineering. I have not faced any kind of disappointment at any phase. LPU provides the beautiful infrastructure and all required resources to students and staff. I highly recommend that if you really want to make your career with a good level of education then you should go f...more

Hi, LPU is the best. The LPU Mechanical school has well-qualified and experienced faculty members with specializations in various fields like Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, CAD/CAM, Engineering Design, Industrial Engineering, Machine Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Metallurgy, Robotics, Thermal Engineering, etc. Some of the features I will highlight:
1. Achieving Curriculum Feedback from Industry: some always initiates to discuss its curriculum with the industry persons to take feedback from them and do the necessary alteration in the syllabus as per the industry requirements to make its student industry-read...more -
The scope of mechanical engineering no longer remains limited to just manufacturing and testing of huge machinery and equipment. With technology making new advancements, there are several new domains in mechanical engineering which are being taken up by passionate engineers. These domains include robotics, new materials, nanotechnology, computer-aided design, geomechanics, etc. Though both the universities have good academic structure but being an alumni let me share the details. The school has well qualified and experienced faculty members with specialisation in various fields like, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, CAD/C...more

Mechanical Engineering is one of the evergreen branches of engineering which over time, has contributed to several innovations. Considered to be one of the oldest branches of engineering, mechanical engineering deals with the concepts of Thermodynamics fluids, mechanics and structural analysis. The scope of mechanical engineering is vast even today. These concepts are used in designing some of the best and most efficient state-of-the-art motor vehicles, manufacturing units, aircrafts as well as other industrial machinery. Apart from the machinery and vehicles, mechanical engineers significantly contribute towards the development of pow...more

Hello,
Without any doubt I would say LPU is way better than SRM for engineering be it any specialisation. I have done my engineering from LPU can confidently say that LPU has experienced faculty members, well-equipped labs, great infrastructure, excellent placements and complete training and placement assistance. Now talking specifically about Mechanical engineering, I had many friends in this branch and almost all of them were placed via campus placements, that too in core companies. Few of the major highlights of this course are :
LPU is ranked as the best engineering college in India. LPU leaped over most IITs and NITs and reached 2nd...more -
Without any bias towards any particular college, I ll offer you my own perspective. It depends on your end goals or objectives. Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network. When it comes to choosing the best university for engineering, IIT becomes the first preference but IIT is not just the only option. Few of the other leading options for engineering are :
National Institute of Engineering
Lovely Professional University
Thapar University
UPES Dehradun
College of Engineering, Pune
Symbiosis Engineering Colle...more -
