Which university is better among LPU and GLA? What is the difference between 'for profit' and 'not for profit' universities?

LPU is better Placements: Placements are really really good. The university conducts exhaustive Pre Placement Training with 3rd party trainers like FACE Academy, SKillrack, Aspiring Minds, conducts a workshop and soft skills grooming sessions as well. More than 200 companies visit on campus, and if you have your basics cleared and you have proper communication skills, you will be guaranteed a placement Companies in the likes of Amazon, ITC, Wipro, L&T, Cognizant, TCS, Practo Technologies, Mahindra, TechMahindra, Decathlon, VenturePact, Flipkart, PWC, Indian Army, DBS Bank, Axis Bank, Vodafone etc. conduct placement drives. As of 2016 batch, 100% placement is being targeted by the university administration. Academics: One of the most important entities of any university, classes and the design of curriculum is very efficient at LPU. Instruction Plans are given out at the very beginning of the semester letting you get hands on information about every topic of the subject you are going to read, every reference you need to go through and stuff. Continuous assessments are an integral part of classes to make sure that students are learning whatever is being taught in the form of tests, term papers, case studies, mini projects etc. MTE and ETE (Mid terms and End terms) are the two major exams that a student has to appear in every semester. The attendance rules are strict and anything below 75% will put you on the detention list. Academics are of international standards, faculties are very supportive and laboratory courses are properly designed. There are ample teaching and learning resources. I believe LPU is better as compared to GLA. Let me share some of my insights about the same: 1. Accreditation: As LPU got accreditation from Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs, USA (ACBSP). Not only LPU is highly accredited but also it is having numerous international tie ups for instance university of North Alabama, Livingstone College etc. 2. Size:LPU is spread over 600 acres campus consisting of 3000+students and 3500+ faculty members and staff. Students are taking the admissions not from all over India but across the borders as well which make me feel that I am in a foreign land. 3. Ranking: LPU has following ranking: 1. Impact rankings 2021 2. National Employability Award 2020 by Aspiring Minds 3. Outlook has ranked LPU as 5th among top 50 universities 4. Knowledge Review rated LPU as 10 th among Best training and Placement Institute 4. Infrastructure: LPU in itself a town as all the amenities a student could found at one place there is no need to move out of the campus. From Central Library to Hospital, Bank, ATMs, JIM facility, swimming pool. A student could enjoy his or her life in the best way. 5. Placements: LPU is having outstanding Placements record for the students. As every year not only national companies but also international ones are also hiring the LPU students for instance Amazon offers 30 Lacs package per annum. The Corporates which have visited the campus are Microsoft, Amazon, DBS Bank etc. 6. Faculty: LPU composed of the best faculty members from IIM, IITs and the other best B schools. 7. Upgraded Approach: LPU is highly upgraded in its parameters as it includes paperless attendance, online assignments, submission etc. We can also raise our grievances online itself.

Shubhank, the main difference between the 'for profit' and 'not for profit' universities is one exists to make a profit. Formal educational institutes such as schools, colleges are not allowed by law to make profits. In reality all of them are owned by either Non-profit company or Trust. Only training institutes and placement agencies such as NIIT or CEED are profit making companies. LPU is one of the best universities in the country with world class infrastructure, modern facilities and highly qualified faculty from IITs, IIITs, NITs, IBSs, etc. The university is having tie ups with many foreign universities and reputed companies thus facilitating higher education abroad and good placements respectively for their students. Big companies like Google, Tech Mahendra, Cognizant, Amazon, Adobe, etc come for recruitment purpose. Most of the CSE students are placed in good companies with high package. University prepares its students for placements through special inputs in the form of placement classes. Students have been offered package as high as 20 lacs pa. Hi, The main difference between the 'for profit' and 'not for profit' universities is one exists to make a profit, other is not. Both are good, but LPU has become a brand in the field of education. They are imparting quality education at an affordable fee. The following things make LPU worth: 1. The university is having a world-class infrastructure with modern amenities. 2. Labs are equipped with the latest, high-tech equipment. 3. Highly qualified faculty from IITs, IIITs, NITS, Iims, and other reputed institutions in India and abroad. 4. Good placements ranging from 5 LPA to 42 LPA and proper placement guidance/ placement classes. 5. Scholarships for meritorious students. 6. Extra-curricular activities for the overall development of students' personalities. 7. Competitive curriculum upgraded regularly according to industry requirements. 8. Regular interaction with whose who of the industry/ corporate world. What more can you ask for? Therefore, definitely, it is a university to go for. Thanks.
