Which university is better for a CSE, LPU or Amity?

Hi Sameeksha, Before choosing an University the first point that strikes in mind is its placements and when we talk about B.Tech. , placement record of an University plays a vital role. As a student of LPU I can share the placement scenario here as per the experience of my friends who are studying in B.Tech. In LPU only. The final year students of B.Tech. Are already placed in top MNCs and availed impressive packages. The figures and companies hired LPU students that I know are as follows - Record of the highest package received by an engineering fresher of Rs. 42 Lacs in North India in 2019 by Microsoft. Also, it sets the record of the highest Engineering Placements in North India for three consecutive years, WITH OVER 610 HIRED ON A SINGLE DAY BY COGNIZANT. LPU alumni can be found in most top global brands like Apple, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Bank of America etc. With packages of over 1 Crore. My B.Tech. Friends are exposed to higher order problem solving skills by making them part of competitive programming events like Codechef, Hackerrank, Topcoder etc. It gives them unique experience in terms of their technical skills and helps them in placements also. Lovely Professional University has collaborated with Google for providing Android specialisation training to its engineering students within the campus. Other than students, our teacher's are also trained by the technical experts from BOSCH. Students and faculty also working under the guidance of the experts from BOSCH. As a student of LPU I am vary much satisfied with the curriculum, placements, faculty members, infrastructure of LPU. They help us in preparing us for placements also. Without any bias towards any particular college, I will offer you my own perspective. It depends on your end goals or objectives. Most of the Engineering Colleges in India don't focus much on developing the overall personality of the student. Anyways Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network. My brother has completed B.Tech CSE from Lovely Professional University and currently he is working in Amazon with the highest package. So through him I come to know about University and few other things which I would like to discuss:- LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very supportive of all technicalities. Students can contact them anytime for their study purpose. The latest teaching methods are used in the classroom. The placements on the campus is good enough. It is the best university in the North of India to give the best packages in B.Tech (CSE). During the time of my brother induction, I have seen a few students who got placed in the companies with a package of 42 LPA. The university placement drive undoubtedly works hard for the students to get placed. Just before Final Year of your course, a special team called School of Professional Enhancement will prepare students for upcoming placements and you won't get a day off from placements, every day a company comes to campus. Its just up to you how well you can do and never lose Patience you will get placed, you just have to prepare well for that. The university has tie-ups Oracle to train us better and with huge companies for placements like Google, Microsoft, Capgemini, Amazon, JOSH technology group, Tech Mahindra, TCS and others who visit every year offering attractive packages to students. The average package is around 3.5lakhs - 4.5lakhs p. a. The deserving ones are also seen ceasing the opportunity by getting placed with a whopping package of 20-25 LPA. LPU offers Study Abroad Programme that allows the students to experience the international study culture well under the framework of a different educational system abroad. Thank you!

LPU will certainly we a better choice for CSE between the two. If both the Universities are compared on the ground of placements, campus life, hostel life, academics, co-curricular activities, etc. , LPU will certainly be better in all of them. Placement here is very good and companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, etc. Also recruit from here. Out of around 500 companies coming here there are nearly half of them offering dream package. Also, nearly 100 companies that recruit from IITs and NITs also recruit from LPU, ultimately making the placements here very good. Also, when talking about the placement stats, maximum of the students sitting in the placement drive are placed while there are some students who opt for higher studies as well. The academics here is also very good. The curriculum at LPU is very perfectly designed. In order to expose the students to the industry standards and benchmarks, the courses here are mapped and are run in line with industry requirements. Also, a dynamic approach is taken in which students explore real-world problems and challenges to solve Minor Projects, Live projects and Design Problem challenges. Students are exposed to higher order problem solving skills by making them part of competitive programming events like Codechef, Hackerrank, Topcoder etc. CSE at LPU encourages all-round development through industry adapted curriculum focusing on enhancing both technical skills and soft skills. Each year, the coders at LPU set the benchmark a step higher by securing placements in top international brands like Microsoft, Google and Apple. Also, the teaching methodology is very good here and there is a very large number of faculty members who have their doctorate degree and have a very good knowledge of the subject they teach.

Hi there, Well, being an alumni as well as an existing student at LPU, I would like to answer your query. I don't know about Amity but I can share my own experience of LPU. To my belief, I don't believe in something being perfectly good or bad yet I the comparison on some basis is possible. Like here, I can say LPU is better, in every possible way an in every course we talk about. LPU is Ranked among the "Top Six Promising Universities of The Country" by India Today. It is Ranked Among the Top Universities of India in Over 20 Prestigious Researches & Rankings. Moreover, LPU is the first private University in India that is ICAR accredited by ICAR. Apart from all this LPU is the first private university to host honorable prime minister Narendra Modi during the Indian Science congress. And The previous honorable Mr. Pranab Mukherjee chaired the 8th Convocation of LPU. I am myself not an engineering student but my roommate during Masters was a CSE student at LPU. Thus, to my experience she was quite happy with all the policies LPU had. Be it academics, she was really enjoying that part along with the projects and extracurricular activities. LPU also provides a very marvelous in-campus residential facility which proves to be much favorable for students. Students get to work in labs after 5 PM too. Moreover, students can avail the benefits of library late night till 12 AM and during exams upto 2 AM also. LPU does have the latest technology and resources that students can utilize during their projects and dissertations. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I would say that Lovely Professional University is a great university which every students are looking for. Be it studies, hangout places, infrastructure or extracurricular activities, this university has it all. LPU makes leaders who are not only thorough professionals but also good human beings with values. This is just one of the many reasons why it is consistently ranked no.1.
