The choice lies with you only. Both are equally good, rather nowadays private universities are putting more effort than some of the NIT's or even young IIT's. For NIT one has to crank JEE Mains whereas for LPU one can crack LPU NEST. I am not saying that LPU NEST is easier than JEE Mains or difficult. All the above mentioned Universities are good on their respective domain but according to my knowledge and findings, LPU offers B.Tech in various programs such as CSE, EE, ECE, ME, CE, Automobile, Chemical, Aerospace, Biotechnology, etc.
1. LPU has 600+ acres of campus in Punjab and more than 25000+ students study there among many countries.
2. A-one infrastructure- All the facilities are available on the campus. You no need to go outside in case of any need such as food, hospital, indoor/Outdoor sports stadium, etc.

Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network.
