Which university is better for mechanical engineering among LPU, SRM and SASTRA?

Hi Harsha, The choice lies with you only. Both are equally good, rather nowadays private universities are putting more effort than some of the NIT's or even young IIT's. For NIT one has to crank JEE Mains whereas for LPU one can crack LPU NEST. I am not saying that LPU NEST is easier than JEE Mains or difficult. Here I just want to tell you about the value addition, Where it might be possible that LPU is putting more efforts to make Industry ready product. First of all the difference is in the specializations. LPU offers large number of industry specific specializations, highly coveted Computer Science Engineering along with the function specific ones, while you can easily count the total number of classes in NIT's. For mechanical engineering, SRM, LPU and then Sastra. SRM is better in academics, whereas relatively, a bit better in placements than LPU. The academics and placement combined stands LPU on the second and the Sastra University on the third rank.

Being an alumni of LPU I would like to share some details: A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. Without any bias towards any particular college, I ll offer you my own perspective. It depends on your end goals or objectives. Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network. When it comes to choosing the best university for engineering, IIT becomes the first preference but IIT is not just the only option. Few of the other leading options for engineering are : National Institute of Engineering Lovely Professional University Thapar University UPES Dehradun College of Engineering, Pune Symbiosis Engineering College Delhi College of Engineering Among these options, I would suggest you to checkout Lovely Professional University. I have heard a lot about LPU, LPU has well qualified faculty members, great infrastructure, complete placement assistance, live projects, well-equipped labs and lot more.
