If you are seeking admission in an engineering college then I would like to suggest VIT as the first preference. It is one of the most reputed private colleges after BITS-Pilani. It is the best option in every context whether it is the environment, placement, fest, exposure or anything else. SRM is also a good college but if we compare it with VIT then VIT is better.
Now, it's up to you, but first of all, you have to clear its entrance exam.
    Good luck.

VIT is the best campus, if compared to SRM, since this is the best private institute and the placement are much better than SRM and also in terms of education, infrastructure, opportunities, and environment.

Dear friend, As per my personal open in my experience in comparison to VIT and SRM University, you must go for SRM Chennai because it has better infrastructure student related facilities, eco friendly environment and has good placement records of all the courses and have very advanced technology. Thanks.

You can go for any of them. Obviously, VIT is better in terms of curriculum and placements. But, you have to consider other things too like the fee and all. Engineering Career mostly depends on someone's personal efforts he makes during the course.

It depends upon the branch you want to pursue as both the colleges have the same rank because one college is good for some branches and other for some other.

Its difficult to compare, both are private deemed universities, but VIT has years of service and reputation behind while SRM is a relatively new generation private deemed university.
