Why has the global rank of IIMs dropped over the last decade?

IIMs and IITs are really focused colleges and can't be compared to the US and European universities. Those universities house various departments which all come together to enrich the student experience. And, additionally due to the smaller size of the universities in India, they have low number of foreign students and faculty. Also, the research output is lesser than universities worldwide due to the focus on placements. India prides itself on its six-decade-long history of business schools but the colleges aren't making a good exhibition in global rankings. There is a decline in performance in several criteria, particularly in enrolling and employing international students and faculty members, which experts say holds back many of Indias finest colleges. As a matter of fact, the ranking of IIMs is not dropping.
According to the Financial Times global MBA ranking, the ranking of IIMs and ISB has increased over the years.
Comparing to the ranks in 2016 IIM-A's rank dropped a bit but ISB and IIM-B saw an increase in ranking.
There are various factors considered while ranking colleges on a global scale. The problem is many of these factors are not given importance in IIMs (as a matter of fact in any college in India).
