    While I agree that cloud computing has the potential to displace a large portion of the server industry, I do not believe that it will ever be able to fully replace dedicated servers. This is because dedicated servers provide privacy and security that cloud servers cannot match. Cloud services will be widely regarded as the top option for small and medium-sized enterprises. However, businesses that deal with sensitive information, such as banks, government organizations (including military and police), and multinational corporations, will always choose dedicated server hosting.     Cloud computing has been the most talked about a chapter in the books of web hosting industry. After Cloud hosting services came into full swing the scenario has changed totally, there were many questions that it has replaced the traditional hosting, replaced the storage network, replaced enterprise architecture etc. But we can say that cloud has become an integral part which doesn't replace anything rather given a new meaning to the existing technology.

    Cloud computing is rapidly changing the future of IT. The big question on everyone's minds is where is it going? And what will its effect be? Times have clearly changed since companies had a single mainframe to work on as, they now run several software applications which normal products cannot support in the same, seamless way that the cloud does.

    This a good question and considering the pace of cloud computing and ROI/VOI, the answer is 'Yes'. In the next 4-5 years, there is a high chance that you will get hardly any dedicated server hosting except certain compliance guidelines or legal obligation because few external compliance guideline requires having a dedicated isolated hosting infrastructure.
