Will dropping an year for JEE (Mains and Advanced) be a good exam strategy?

If you make a plan and work on it, then it is a good idea. You have to aim for your vision, work hard and smart for the same. -
it depends upon your previous year score
if you missed it from 15-10 marks
then go for pepration and work hard .
and the gap is large 40-50 then try for state college or any private institute

If you want to pursue engineering from a reputed government college and unable to get admission because of less marks then go for a year drop, but there are good number of private colleges in India, first go for their respective state or university's entrance exam. You can also save your precious year. -
Its depend on your efforts and strategy if you are dropping then always prepare keeping family aside.

9 years agoAccording to me, you should not drop your valuable 1 year but you should learn the capability of taking two studies together and getting good scores. -
its obviously good to drop a year if u r confident that u can get a seat in IIT or nit then there nothing better then it.but remember its make or break tym !!!!studying one more year is better then searching for job one year after passing out wid an avg college -
You should compel yourself to choose the field, which you like. You can drop a year, if you are fully determined to crack the exams. Else, you can continue with simple B.Sc because studying that effectively could get you better jobs than IITans.

If you feel strongly that by taking one year gap, you can prepare for IIT JEE exam, then you must go for it. You should join a good coaching class and focus on IIT JEE preparation.
