An applicant's eligibility to teach in Andhra Pradesh's primary and upper elementary schools can be ascertained through the administration of the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET). Teachers who pass the APTET Level 1 test can work in elementary schools (grades 1–5), whereas teachers who pass the APTET Level 2 exam can work in upper primary schools (grades 6–8).
