    Admission based on national level entrance exam and previous academic qualifying exam. Student can apply on the basis of JEE Mains for B.Tech. There are other equally good private universities like LPU which is so high rated by the industries that they recruit the students for top notch positions.     Hi, Pursuing B.Tech is a good decision, But choosing the right college and right branch is more difficult, you must go more rationally. Apart from Thapar University, there are many other Universities that are better in terms of placements, academics, curriculum, extra-curricular activities, exposure to the students, etc. That Keeping in mind all these factors, only one institute that comes to my mind is Lovely Professional University (LPU).     To get admission to the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, it is compulsory to have appeared in JEE exams. There are two criteria for getting admission in TIET. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage. 70% of the total seats for BE/B.Tech course will be filled on the basis of JEE Main score you must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate of three subjects, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject.
