Can my son take lateral entry to 3rd year because he is a Christ College Drop Out after completing 2nd Yr BA English (HONS)?

My son dropped out from Christ University BA English (Hons) after completing his 2nd Year because he fell sick for 2 months and his attendance fell drastically. Can he take lateral entry to English (Hons) 3rd year in any college / University? Is it possible?
