However, they must be back inside by 9:30 PM, when the college hostel closes, if they plan to spend their Sundays outside.

    • At GIBS Business School Bangalore, students usually need to follow hostel rules for outings. Going out on Sundays is generally allowed with proper permission, but it's best to confirm the current policy with the hostel office.
    • However, GIBS hostels have standard facilities and emphasize discipline, so students are generally expected to follow hostel rules regarding outings.
    • For exact policies on leaving campus on Sundays, it is best to check directly with the hostel administration.

At GIBS there's always something happening besides classes. TEDxGIBS is one of the biggest — the speakers, the atmosphere, and the whole backstage craze actually make you feel part of something big and creative. Sports events like volleyball tournaments add that fun college vibe — everyone shouting, cheering, and pretending like it's the Olympics

Then there are different clubs — cultural, entrepreneurship, newsletter, magazine, IRE, marketing, etc. These clubs are where we learned teamwork, communication, and honestly where half the memories were made. Plus those MIT bootcamps and AI sessions recently… that kind of exposur

If you're asking about the PGDM at GIBS, honestly the eligibility part is pretty straightforward. You just need to have completed your graduation in any stream (like BBA, BCom, BTech, BA, etc.). Even students who are in their final year can apply — so it's not like you need to wait forever.

Apart from that, you need to have a valid score from entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, KMAT, etc. Nothing scary — even I applied with MAT. GIBS looks more at overall fit, motivation, and how serious you are about building a career than just raw marks.

For me the best part was that GIBS gives importance to practical learning, placement

Honestly, the modern facilities at GIBS make a huge difference in how we learn. It feels less like “college” and more like a professional workspace. The AC digital classrooms are super helpful because half the time we're presenting, pitching ideas, or discussing case studies — so having screens, proper audio, and AC makes it feel like you're in a mini boardroom.

The WiFi campus is a lifesaver (especially for research, placements, LinkedIn stalking recruiters, and quick submissions). Even during IRE and club work, we're always online.

The auditorium and labs are where the real action happens — guest talks, TEDx, IRE sessions, MIT

Honestly at GIBS, things never stay just “theory”. We get live projects, case studies, and loads of corporate talks that make us think like actual managers. Live projects give real work experience, case studies sharpen decision-making, and corporate sessions show what companies actually expect. So by the time placements start, we've already faced real scenarios, interacted with industry people, and built confidence. That's how GIBS quietly bridges the gap without making it feel stressful.

Tbh, the 100% placement at GIBS doesn't happen magically in the last month of college. As a student, I've seen how they start grooming us from day one itself — communication training, aptitude, GDs, mock interviews, networking, all of that keeps happening casually in the background.

Plus GIBS has this crazy corporate network that keeps coming on campus for talks, internships, and projects, so by the time final placements start companies already know us and we've already built a profile. And we don't go into interviews empty — live projects + internships + IRE sessions + certifications give you real stuff to talk about.
