There is just a minor change in the paper pattern. The main thing that we have to focus on is the accuracy no matter how the paper pattern is.

The CAT 2017 Mock Test released by IIM Lucknow on October 30 can be taken as the official document that determines the exact nature of exam pattern. More you attempt and advance in each of the 3 sections of CAT 2017 Mock test, more will be understood what is lying in stock for you on CAT 2017 exam day which is hardly 15 days away and falls on November 26, 2017. None other than the official CAT 2017 Mock test which is released in full length by IIM Lucknow can offer you the right approach to analyse your areas of errors as per the correct CAT exam pattern. The right approach to know what has changed in CAT 2017 exam pattern and what co

It means that Iims still haven't reached an ideal test pattern and may keep experimenting with strategy. As for preparation strategy, aspirants shouldn't change anything. However, exam taking strategy will change. Candidates have to attempt each section for 60 minutes. There's no option of attempting your the strongest section first or last - it's all decided by CAT authorities. Non-MCQ questions are making an entrance this year. Iims haven't revealed any information about it. Irrespective of the difficulty level of non-MCQ questions, definitely attempt it, 'cause there's no negative marking here.

1 -The sectional time limit will also be there I. e. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. This exam pattern is exactly on the same lines as that of 2016 CAT exam conducted by IIM Bangalore.
2- Testing window in CAT 2017 may go to 2 days from present 1 day as the aspirants have been demanding it since last year.
3- Change in number of Non-MCQs could be there or the Non-MCQs may remain absent in CAT 2017 which can be plus point for the students who have a good conceptual knowledge.
    4-One of the most

Though the pattern has changed, the significance and importance of the exam hasn't. It is better to think of the importance, focus on the strengths, work on the weaknesses, and practice as much as possible. Last year, the DILR section was the most difficult. This year the trend may be followed again. It would be advisable not yo think about the pattern but about the level of difficulty of the questions. With the introduction of Non-MCQ, students will get a benefit of attempting such questions as they do not fetch negative marks.

Also you can say that, they are making the quants section easier and making DILR section harder, so that they can take more non- engineers without compromising on the quality of students.

CAT is an exam that does not repeat itself and at one or other point every year there are some changes in the exam pattern and CAT syllabus. This fact is not revealed by Iims in their notification, registration, exam format or any other release but the official CAT Mock test reflects the changes.
