XLRI keeps on changing their criteria based on the quality of students that come for the interview and GD process. However, the focus is definitely more on the XAT scores (overall as well as sectional). But, if one does have a good academic background, it will definitely work as an impetus for your chances of selection.

Yes, XLRI considers past academic performance of the candidates. Apart from XAT scores, XLRI considers essay, GK, GD, personal interview, academic performance, work-experience and a video about yourself for calculating the overall score for admission. Till last year, the weight-age of XAT score and other components was 50-50.
