How are the placements of B.Tech biotechnology at LPU?

I am an alumnae of LPU and I did my B.Tech & M.Tech in Biotechnology from here itself. I can confidently say, B.Tech Biotechnology at LPU offer wide variety of career options, right from Research & Development, to 100% Placements. Both the quality of education and industrial exposure is well utilized in educating their student mass. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible student to secure good placement with the help of a dedicated Division of Career Services (team of about 40 person) and faculty/staff from parent School. On an average, more than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus-recruitment of students from LPU students have been working in more than 1400 reputed companies across the globe. Even the pandemic could not stop us curating careers of our young talent at LPU. For witnessed outstanding batch graduating in 2021, already 1000+ campus placement/internship drives have been conducted till March 2021 with leading industry giants generating more than 5200+ offers. Zyla Health, Medtronics, GSK, Translumina, Nestle India, PIMS, Titan Biotech, Moon Frog, Intertek, Roots Analysis, Allied analytics, Cognizant Technology Solutions, HiCare, Lifecell, Wisdom Global, Dr. Lal Path Labs, TechSci Research, Dalmia Healthcare, Freyr Solutions, Meditab, Cryoviva Biotech, Poly Medicure Ltd. , DXC Technology, Nanoveda Solutions, etc. Are few names to recall when it comes to placement. As per the reviews received by my juniors I found the School has been getting a result of 100% placement from past three years now. On an average the package stands to be 4.5 lac per annum. Usually placed as Research Analyst, Quality Specialist and Technicians profile.

LPU is the best choice to pursue B.Tech Biotechnology programme as LPU not only provides excellent teaching but also provides positive environment for learning. Beside this LPU also provides campus placements in well established multinational companies.

One of my relative's son have completed B.Tech Biotechnology from LPU and he has got placement in MNC company. He said more than 90% students got placed and more than 80% companies visited are generally MNCs. Moreover, LPU have excellent NIRF ranking in engineering amongst top 100 in all the engineering institutes in India And As per the times higher education impact ranking 2021 LPU got first rank in India and all over the globe got 22nd rank.

Rapidly changing business landscape requires young leaders to not only understand developing economies but also develop a global perspective at the same time in order to be an integral part of the growth of the economy. In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. Participation in technical events, conferences, workshops, sports and cultural activities help in the holistic development of students There are BIO ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES that provides an understanding of the basic principles and applications of analytical techniques used in Biology. There is a course Human Genetics that deals with investigation of human hereditary qualities looking at real leaps forward and current issues in human heredity. The course will incorporate the investigation of hereditary qualities, and the societal ramifications of themes, for example, the human genome venture, DNA fingerprinting, hereditary qualities and knowledge, and hereditary building. There were courses that provides practical exposure on basic biological tests and instrumentation techniques. LPU school of biotechnology provides an ultimate learning experience with a commitment to innovation. Various guest lectures from experts and field visits are organized by the school. Special inputs in the form of placement classes are given to students to hone their skills and prepare them for placements. Students also go for on-job training (OJT) where they are paid stipend too. LPU has highly qualified faculty from IITs, IIITs, and NITs etc. , Specializations offered in Dairy Technology or Fermentation Technology or Molecular Biotechnology (subject to minimum number of students and feasibility) Companies like Panacea biotech, Dalmia healthcare, Root anaylsis, Cactus (and the list goes on) visit the campus every year. Also the scope is just not limited to work in the corporate sector in areas like marketing, quality controls or as research associative (for companies like Root anaylsis and cactus) but also the research areas. Such may feats result in good placements for LPU. Therefore it has gathered so many accolades. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible students to secure good placement. The university has been ranked high by outer agencies also with regard to placements of our students. Aspiring Minds have ranked LPU as having Most Employable Students in consecutively twice in a row for previous academics sessions. ASSOCHAM (Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India) rated LPU as Best Private University with regards to placements. Zee News Survey rated us as 11th Best in India in Placements. Several Big Brands of the industry have visited LPU campus during academic session 2015-2016 for campus placements, students training/workshops, faculty development, etc. And the process is still going on at full pace. Around 150+ companies visit every year for campus-placement of students from LPU. And this year already more than 180 placement drives till Feb 2017 of leading industry giants have been conducted successfully (more than 90% being MNCs) for students passing out in 2017. For Instance, during Day-1 this year (batch 2016) Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and Tech Mahindra extended 799 placement offers to engineering students of LPU in one go. In case of Biotechnology, 90% of the placement had been recorded with maximum package of Rs.6.0 Lacs.

LPU offers very good placements for B.Tech-biotechnology courses. Apart from that students has good achievements in GATE/NET exams.
