Candidates who have passed the Class 10+2 exam and done two years course of Diploma in Elementary Education and cleared the MAHA TET exam are eligible to become primary teachers in Maharashtra. It is compulsory for candidates to clear the MAHA TET exam and obtain the eligibility certificate to apply for the teacher recruitment in Maharashtra schools. Having the MAHA TET certificate is the minimum eligibility criteria to become a teacher in the state.
