Definitely its a good choice to pursue B.Sc. Agriculture here. It actually offers B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. But before that, you are required to clear the entrance exam LPUNEST for the same. In case of placement,B.Sc.(Hons.). LPU also offers masters in various specializations like Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Breeding, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Vegetable Science, Fruit Science etc. So you have a broader scope in all directions of your career. Regarding placement of agriculture . Maximum placement of agriculture is 1 crore. along with this, many Industries come and hired students and give average salary that is 7-8 lakh per annum. Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the BSC in agriculture. Eligibility for admission in this course is as follows, 60% in 10+2/Intermediate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths/ Biology/ Forestry + LPUNEST or 60% in 10+2/Intermediate 10+2 (Agriculture) + LPUNEST OR 60% in 2 year Diploma(Agriculture) after 10th + LPUNEST Age Condition :- Minimum 16 Years (i.e. born on or before last date of admission) 5% to North East states and Sikkim candidates / Defence Personnel and their Dependents/Wards of Kashmiri MigrantsNow you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. While I was analyzing the curriculum and pedagogy of the course of B.Sc Agricultural Science I found LPU course curriculum very employable. It believes in building expertise through well planned on-field implementation and testing of basic concepts in production, yield enhancement disease resistant and better shelf life of food and flora. Creating professionals to tackle the dogma from seed to stomach. It runs B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Programme ie for 4 years. The university provides a wide platform to explore and experiment on live projects and gram vikas programmes. Such exposures builds the conceptual clarity better. LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (Govt. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. She told me the university has well-equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture. Students are exposed to Commercial farms to get know-how that creates an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. The project involves the introduction of floating islands for water management and improving sanitation and regulation of water quality & restoration of the water table with the help of biological agents. Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture.Emphasis on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. A drone which can be guided by remote control can be used on agriculture land to analyze the soil nutrient status and water stress is an innovation by LPU students to simplify farming experience.
