I am really confused between MBA and PGDM. Which is the best option for future action?

    PGDM: A Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a master level Diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). These institutes are autonomous and not affiliated to any university. The PGDM Institutes further take accreditation from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to make an institutes PGDM course equivalent to an MBA. MBA: A Master in Business Administration (MBA) is a master degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the certain universities. MBAs are thus offered only by universities.     PGDM is an Institute's autonomous program which is approved by AICTE.
    MBA is a program which is affiliated to a University.
    Colleges which offer AICTE approved courses, will also offer PGDM not MBA. For example, if XYZ College is affiliated to ABC University, they offer MBA course affiliated to that University. The same college is offering AICTE approved course. It means, they are offering PGDM which is not linked to ABC University.
    Typically, if any PGDM is to be equivalent to MBA, then the course duration should be 2 years. A 1 year PGDM will not be equal to MBA course.
    Even IIMs, XLRIs doesn't offer MBA degrees. They only give PGP Diplo

    Hi, if you want to consider the technical things, then MBA degree is given by universities, and PGDM is given by autonomous AICTE approved colleges. But, if you need more practical case base oriented management studies, then you can go for AICTE and AIU approved colleges. In PGDM course, curriculum is designed in such a manner that student will learn how to survive in a corporate job. A good curriculum necessitates a student to work in study groups.
