I've completed my 12th & want to prepare for UPSC exam from the scratch. What is the process to prepare and attempt an exam like UPSC?

Can you provide tips on IAS preparation and some reference books?

    Hello Dear, You have just completed 12th. You will have to go for graduation. So don't make a time table for UPSC now. Whenever you get some time, do revise all the topics of History, Geography, Political Science that you have read in your school. Now come to the current affairs section. Do read some newspaper, read the important exam oriented issues. This will definitely help you to score a good mark in UPSC.

    The syllabus of UPSC exam is vast. The first and foremost step in your journey of UPSC Exam preparation is to be well-versed with the UPSC syllabus. Knowing the UPSC syllabus at the back of your hand will do you more good than you can ever imagine. Next, you should develop the habit of reading. To start with, I would recommend you to buy some useful books like Indian Polity by Laxmikanth in addition to all the NCERT books. Also, spend some time analysing the UPSC exam question papers of previous years to understand questions from which topic feature regularly in the papers.
