MBA after B.Com is a very good decision. You should go with the idea of your father. Because it has more scope. B.Com has many career options.

You can opt for B.Com if you want to explore a career in finance, accounting and other in-depth commerce subjects. BBA is an excellent option if you want a career in management across sectors or to establish the basics of entrepreneurship.

If you want to pursue MBA then do BBA as there is more similarity between the two.

Both are good options. But, as per my suggestion, going for BBA will be more oriented for MBA.

For MBA you should go for BBA it is a first step for MBA. In BBA you can get a basic knowledge about management, which is beneficial for you in MBA, in other hand B.Com is also good if you want to do MBA in finance. I would prefer BBA to get expanded more in Finance Industry & High chances of Placements at Reputative Firms.

B.Com students are more interested in accounting and taxation, and it is recommended that they pursue CA or further education. M.Com to get a desirable career, however BBA is business administration and will be more focused on business themes.

Being an alumni I would undoubtedly say that you should do MBA. As me too chosen MBA after my B.Com At the graduate level, B.Com offers better job opportunities as compared to BBA. Although there are various job opportunities after BBA. The chances of a decent job are much better after the student has pursued an MBA and LPU itself has pulled up its socks and offered different types of MBA which are as follows:
LPU is offering MBA programme in following streams, MBA (International Business)
    MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management)
    MBA (Business Analytics)
    MBA (Supply Chain & Logistics)
    MBA (Financial Markets)
    MBA with Talent Edge
    1)Accre
    ...more
