Is B.Sc agriculture course of LPU ICAR approved at present?

LPU is not only the ICAR Accredited but become the India's first private University to be Granted with ICAR Accreditation. B.Sc. (Hons. ). Agriculture, M.Sc. Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), M.Sc. Ag. (Agronomy) and M.Sc. Ag. Horticulture (Fruit Science) programmes are accredited to ICAR by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India. It reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture. There are ample of opportunities in this field both in Government and in Private sector. Getting a good job depends on various factors like from where you have done your Graduation, your skills, your knowledge about the field, the Industrial experience and exposure if you have any. A graduate/ post-graduate in this field can get appointed as an Agricultural Research Scientist, Agriculture Officer, Production Manager, Farm Manager, etc. Interested students can also opt for jobs in the field of teaching, banking, and insurance. Lovely professional university is the first private university to get accreditation from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). LPU provides the quality education by the well qualified teachers. LPU has become a brand across the globe. It has various national and international tie-ups. LPU provides a proper atmosphere or environment for agriculture students. In this stream as most of the work is fieldwork, there every student is allocated a separate piece of land to perform their tasks in the supervision of the staff. Students here are given the opportunity to work on the live projects. University provides additional professional enhancement classes as part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams. LPU excels in terms of placement as well. I had few friends from agriculture department, Sometimes I used to visit fields, Labs with them they also discussed about placements, academic, placements etc. So I have Idea about this course. Few Points I am sharing which will help you to know more about B.Sc. (Hons)Agriculture course:- Students learn about the latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture. LPU lays thrust on carrying out research in agricultural and allied fields. The university has well-equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms, and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. Emphasis on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture students done research on Project On Floating Island-The project involves the introduction of floating islands for water management and improving sanitation and regulation of water quality &amp; restoration of the water table with the help of biological agents. Students hitherto organic yields of Spinach, Cauliflowers, Cabbage, Turnip, Radish, Carrots have been well accepted by local consumers at University, who have liked these for quality, taste, appearance and appeal. Yes, BIG YES to your question. LPU is one of the best choice for agriculture programme. Lovely Professional University is first private university accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. No other private university has this accreditation. LPU is one of the great place for education where the management actually believe on actions rather than words. Whatever they promised they delivered to us along with in campus placement at good package and best time of life.

I am student of LPU and I am living in hostel. My roommate is doing Bachelors in agriculture. She is saying B.Sc. Agriculture is an amazing course. LPU is the first private university that got ICAR approval. LPU is spread over 600 acres of campus and 1200+ acres of agricultural land (especially for agriculture students) having 3000+ students and 3500+ faculty and staff. Many students come there across the world which made me feel like in a foreign country. In B.Sc. Agriculture, a student obtain placement is 23 LPA salary package in 2022. A student also get a maximum placement that is 1 crore package from Monsanto, canada which dream destination of every Punjab. Every year many companies visit there and hire the students.

Yes being an alumni of LPU I can proudly say that B.Sc. Agriculture course from LPU is ICAR approved. Infact LPU is the first private university which got approval of ICAR. In LPU, Agriculture Students are exposed to live Commercial farms (250 acres) to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills. Students are also involved in Practical crop production, Rural and Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE), Nursery raising for horticulture crops, Crop And SEED Identification, Soil And Water Sampling And Analysis, Soil Description And Interpretation, Organic And Chemical Fertilizer etc. Projects other than regular course work.
