Is it good to pursue BA geography to become an IAS officer?

I have secured 95% in 10th and 80% in 12th from Odisha state board.Now I'm a 1st year student in College of engineering and technology and have secured 8.2 CGPA in 1st semester.But now I want to do B.A. in geography to achieve my dream(IAS)in a concerted way.I can't find amusement in tecnical study.

    Since you have spent only first year, I think it is best not to waste any more time studying whatever you do not wish to. But, MAKE SURE that you do not make a wrong decision this time. Consult your elders at home and get the opinion of the placement coordinator at your institute. If there is a counselor at your institute , please consult him immediately. Do you really wish to study geography, and geography only. Any inclination about geology or astronomy ? Ask your seniors and elders.
