Is LPU a good option for civil engineering?

As per my experience, LPU is Best OPTION. In Civil Engineering LPU emphasizes the evolution of manmade infrastructure as LPU understands how they have evolved to the present scenario. With the advancement of technology in leaps and bounds, the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. LPU is nurturing our students to adapt and be equipped with this ever-changing scenario. To cater to these needs the department is structured into five vibrant centers of studies: Structural. Hydraulics. Environment. Geotechnica. Transportation. As per my friends experiences, those are graduated in civil from LPU. LPU is Imparting knowledge through site visits, case studies, real-time designs of structures. It has well-equipped lab facilities like concrete testing, cement testing, soil testing, surveying, highway material testing, and structural mechanics. They are Teaching through PPTs, videos, images, and animations. Manual, as well as computerized structural designing skills with CAD and soft-wares like STAAD Pro, MX Road, are provided to the students. Yes, LPU is a good option to pursue civil engineering. LPU is a well renowned private university in India with 30K+ students all across the world and with 4000 experienced faculty members and staff members. There are more than 200 programmes to choose and with a great infrastructure LPU provides all the facilities within the campus itself. LPU has earned many affiliations, recognitions and accreditation down the lane and mark itself amongst the few of the top private universities. Even the placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked the 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records. So, I would prefer you to choose LPU to pursue your higher studies.

Students have been completed Industry delivered certificates like Soma enterprises, L & T, Gammon, etc. Students are exposed to different practical oriented fun games and learning activities such as competitions, quizzes, workshops, live projects, etc. which create an opportunity for students to engage and hone up their analysis, design and drawing skills which is required at industry. Emphasis on real site and consultancy work is given along with class-based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. Yes, LPU is a good option for civil engineering, though, it is not that much well established when compared with the deemed institution but overall, it plays a big role in developing your personality as being a part of a big university. Also, you are likely to get more job offers from different branches other than your core. Go further, if the same may suit you. The biggest advantage you will have is this- , if you pursue B. Tech after Diploma, around 60% of core subjects will be covered by you. This means you will be among top students in your B. Tech class and will pass the degree with flying colors. After doing Diploma, you will save one year by enrolling in second year of B. Tech program and will complete your study in three years. Now, I will give you my opinion based on feedback received from students who are known to me and are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Department. So, following are the highlights of Civil Engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff is from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty has got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepare to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and on analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career oriented Software training in project labs is given. You will be taught software like AutoCAD, MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. I hope that helps you to make a wiser decision. Rest lies on you as it will all depend upon your quest to knowledge, hard work & networking skills. All the best for your future endeavors.

The school in co-ordination with Division of Career Services has moved from strength to strength and has placed many students in national and international organizations like Al-Rakha, Simplex, Cognizant etc. Students have been completed Industry delivered Certificate like Soma enterprises, L & T, Gammon, etc. Experiential Learning is offered. Innovative Pedagogy and Co-Curricular & Extra Curricular Activities add to its excellence.
