Is LPU a ragging and drug fre campus?

Yes! Also, LPU has one of the safest campuses in the world. Anti-social things like ragging and drugs are just out of question owing to the security available here at the campus. LPU claims to have more CCTV cameras than that available at IGI airport. Also, the 400+ highly-trained security personnel here make sure that the decorum of the campus is maintained 24/7. There are boom barriers as well as turnstile gates at all the major entrances and exits, which makes it easy for the security here to track any suspenseful movement inside the campus. Also, there are frequent checks organized for your hostel rooms, most of which take place unannounced. This is done to ensure that any student does not involve himself/herself with any kind of narcotics, etc.

LPU has the largest residential capacity in the world. In order to ensure proper safety and security of the children. The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit to residential facility. LPU has a set of rules regarding hostel life and its facilities. LPU provides convenience to your doorstep but expects proper adhering to their discipline structure and code of conduct. 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances like alcohol, drugs etc. Strict actioned used to be taken against the defaulters in case non-adherence of such rules. Yes. LPU Hostellers are definitely allowed to go outside the campus but in restricted manner. 1) Boys are allowed to go outside campus as per requirement but they need to return back & report to Hostel by 8 PM. 2) Hostellers (Girls) are not allowed to go outside the university at any given point of time, to go outside the university, permissions from parents is taken to provide them with the GATE pass. 3) Girls have to enter their specific hostels in specified time duration ie 7 pm. Special Permission will be extended to student for day/night out with the written permission of Warden & Parents. Student needs to post the request on the UMS for weekend outing and avail the due permission from parents & warden for the same. Most importantly Safety is the Key Word. LPU campus is safe and secured, you are at home away from home.

Being an alumni of LPU I would be happy to answer this. Ragging is totally prohibited in university. If someone is found voilating the rules and regulations would be punished according to UGC guidelines. There are CCTV cameras everywhere in the campus, in classrooms, in hostel-corridors. I feel, LPU is the safest place to be in. Also, the staffs that LPU has for this security purpose are very well trained. A majority of security personnel and gunmen are experienced ex-servicemen, fully equipped and trained. Lady security staff are specially recruited for girls hostel security. Additionally, the association between seniors and juniors is quite amicable. There are no complications and rather they behave in much friendly manner. I remember one of the incidents where I was stuck up with some technical glitch in my preparation of the presentation and how one of the seniors had helped me and also lent me her laptop. Because of her only I was able to give my presentation.

Safety and security of the students is at paramount importance for the management of LPU and it is one of the safest campuses in the world. LPU has more CCTVs than even the New Delhi International Airport. The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit to residential facility. Manned by over 400 full time security officials, thousands of security cameras, LPU is one of the safest campuses in the world. The University has its very own fire station department. You will find one security person after every 100 meters and they show quick response. Ragging is totally prohibited in LPU, and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively or being a part of conspiracy of ragging is liable to be punished. University has an separate ANTI-RAGGING committee to monitor such activities inside campus.
