Is LPU AICT approved or not?

LPU is an UGC recognised university. LPU doesn't require AICTE aporoval because AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999.

LPU is already recognised y recognised by UGC in 2006. hence LPU doesn't require AICTE approval. Because for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. Besides that LPU has endless tie-ups and accreditation with many organizations even with foreign. And as per the latest NIRF rankings released by MHRD LPU is: 1. Among the top 80 Universities in India 2. Among the top 90 engineering colleges in India 3. Among the top 50 business management schools in India 4. Among the top 30 Indian pharmacy colleges.

Dear Khan, No, LPU is not approved by AICTE. In fact, a university does not require AICTE approval, it should be UGC approved. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. FYI, If any college is already approved by UGC, then approval from AICTE is not necessary. AICTE is simply a part of UGC. LPU provides great academic exposure to its students. It is a UGC-approved university that has been ranked well by various agencies on the basis of its infrastructure, its faculty, its placements, its teaching practices, etc. The university provides ample opportunities to each and every one of eligible students to secure a good placement. Special inputs in the form of professional enhancement classes are given to students to hone their skills and prepare them for placements. Hi Mr Khan, LPU is a full-fledged university approved by UGC. It does not need approval from the All India Council for Technical Education. The Supreme Court of India made it clear that it is not mandatory for a university to seek prior approval of (AICTE) however the 'technical institutions' need to seek approval from AICTE t start a new course or department. As per the NIRF rankings conducted by the ministry of education, LPU is at no 66 amongst all government and private engineering institutions imparting education in engineering. Lately, an LPU student from the engineering department got the highest package of Rs 42 Lacs per annum. Its degrees are valid. More than 700 companies from across the country come to the campus to recruit LPU students. Let me tell you LPU is approved by various bodies and its ranking is pretty impressive. Just have a look. If someone is joining a UGC approved university course, even if it is not approved by AICTE you will not suffer on any of the accounts. Another point is that universities DO NOT require AICTE approval compulsorily, even if they might apply and take approval to add another feather to their cap. Alongside, UGC accreditation, Lovely Professional University has lot of other accreditation in its different programmes offered in the University like: 1. National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE) 2. Council Of Architecture (COA) 3. Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI) 4. Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR) 5. Bar Council Of India (BCI) 6. The Institution Of Engineers (India) 7. Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI) and lot more. Hence it is always advisable for one to not just hold one concern of accreditation or affiliation into account as one could explore it in details to have a better idea from the LPU website.

Khan,LPU is UGCapproved and a UGC approved university doesn't need AICTE approval. The Supreme Court has ruled in the famous Bharathidasan University versus AICTE case that it is not obligatory for a university, created under an Act of a competent legislature, to seek and secure prior approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the university itself to conduct technical courses of its choice and selection.What it means is that the AICTE Act,1987 is applicable only to 'technical institutions' and universities are not ' technical institutions', excluding them from the purview of the AICTE Act. So, all the universities whether govt.like PU or private like LPU just need UGC approval that they have, not AICTE approval.

LPU is the best University to join as it focuses on the overall growth of the students. Being an alumnus of LPU I would prefer LPU as it has helped me grow professionally and provides exposure to various opportunities in terms of internships, workshops, guest lectures, industrial visits, placements etc. As per my knowledge, Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. LPU does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY &amp; ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION &amp; ORS, and various other cases UGC approved is better as it will be internationally recognised. AICTE is some kind of government recognition but it will have no reciprocal approval internationally. AICTE Approval is used to be deemed universities as a money-spinner for the colleges. The Universities established by an Act of Central or State Government are valid Universities. Degree awarded by a valid University and specified by UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956 is recognised, subject to the approval of the programme by the concerned Statutory Professional Council (s), wherever applicable. It has numerous other accreditation as well such as Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), Council Of Architecture (COA), National Council For Teacher Education (NCTE), Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI), Indian Council Of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Bar Council Of India (BCI), The Institution Of Engineers (India), Institute Of Town Planners, India (ITPI) as well as International Memberships.
