LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (government. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU got this accreditation last year (2018). All the courses that run at undergraduate and post graduate level are all accredited by ICAR. It counts B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. (Genetics &amp; Plant Breeding), M.Sc Ag. (Agronomy) and M.Sc Ag. Horticulture (Fruit Science) programmes are accredited to ICAR by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous body responsible for coordinating agricultural education and research in India.

Accreditation is done to ensure the quality of higher agricultural education in Agricultural Universities and their constituent colleges. The University/ institution/programme is critically evaluated by a group of experts as per approved guidelines of the Council. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. There is a total of 4 deemed universities, 3 central universities, and 64 state universities. LPU is a well-renowned university. It is recognised by UGC and also it has got the ICAR accreditation. It is the first private university to be accredited by The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). LPU School of Agriculture is among Punjab and India's Best Agriculture colleges. It lays thrust on carrying out research in agricultural and allied fields. A BIG YES !I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.
