Slope of line joining points A (3, –1) and B (4, –2) is

$m = \frac{- 3 - (- 1)}{4 - 3} = \frac{- 2 + 1}{1} = - 1$

As slope of AB is the angle made by the line-segment AB w.r.t. x-axis, the angle between them is and is given by $t a nΘ = m$

$\Rightarrow t a nΘ = - 1 \Rightarrow t a nΘ = - t a n 45 ° = t a n (180 ° - 45 °)$

$\Rightarrow t a n = t a n 135 °$

$\Rightarrow = 135 °$

⇒ x-intercept

⇒ $(\frac{- 2}{m} + 8)$

⇒ y-intercept

⇒ (–8m + 2)

⇒ OA + OB = $\frac{- 2}{m^{2}}$ + 8 – 8m + 2

$f' (m) = \frac{2}{m^{2}} - 8 = 0$

-> $m^{2} = \frac{1}{4}$

-> $m = \frac{- 1}{2}$

-> $f (\frac{- 1}{2}) = 18$

->Minimum = 18
