You need to have a good record as it is moderately competitive to get into the program. The institute checks MHT CET and JEE Main results for candidates applying for B.E./B.Tech. Although the cutoff ranks tend to change from year to year due to the number of applicants and seats open, last year the closing rank for the general all India category of MHT CET was 493447. A good academic track record and excellent exam test scores usually improve a candidate's chances of getting in. Yet, eligible students can get into college using seats reserved in the management quota.

You can directly apply to BMCT using the management quota. Most of the time, students are admitted through MHT CET and JEE Main, but a percentage of seats at the institute is reserved for students given seats through management quota. To be directly selected, candidates must have achieved at least 45% (or 40% for reserved candidates) in their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
