since you are in safety line, i suggest you to do certification programs like nebosh, iosh or osha. they would help you to acheive higher levels in your carrier line. those are internationaly recoganised and asked as a qualification in almost all safety officer vacancy.

Yes you may surely take a gap after BBA and opt for MBA next year, however if you are working during this time then it will surly be helpful for you during MBA admission, plus it will also be an added advantage for you during campus recruitment, as most companies would surely prefer an experience person over a fresher.
However if you are not working during this period or not even pursuing any course then during campus interview you might face a question regarding this gap.
