Aeronautical engineering is the science involved with the study, design, and manufacture of flight-capable machines, or the techniques of operating aircraft. Now coming to the scope for aeronautical engineering in the country, I won't bluff but it's pretty less. It's tough to secure a job post your Bachelors.
Of course, there are a few government companies such as DRDO, HAL, and NAL but most of them require recommendations to get in or may have their own entrance exams especially in the case of IIST to later on join ISRO. Companies like L&T, airbus, being also hire aeronautical engineers.

The last date for application form submission as per website was June 19th, 2018. The admission process in most universities closes in the month of June-July. So, ideally you should apply in that period.

It totally depends on your school as many schools in India don't consider your performance in 12th half yearly examinations and they easily give you admit card for your boards, so I will recommend you to talk to the school management as soon as possible.
