Now for all these courses one thing you need in common is Sketching and Modeling.In animation you need more of flowing arts where as in gaming and comics what you need is cool concepts.If the player likes it,it's cool.Animation and Gaming is very different field though.
In animation you would be prioratizing animating objects and models,where as in Gaming you would be focusing more on Designing characters and Game engines like CRY,SHIVA,Unity,UNREAL.In comics you are going to have to lean more towards Sketching and textering.In VFX everything is about effects.In my opinion it's the most software based field between the four you have mentioned.
