In order to pursue Phd, from universities abroad, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows:
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D.
It is important that you have good scores in common entrance tests.
Internships or other work experience will add to your qualifications
Ph.D. course work essentially includes research and documentation work. This requires large amounts of money. In addition to this, you have to consider living expenses for the entire duration of the course.

However, few of the things which you should keep in mind while choosing your Institute are: First and foremost the recognition of the Institute (the institute must be recognized by UGC or AICTE), Secondly, the course curriculum and the study material, the infrastructure, the faculty(their educational background), the placement, last but not least Institutes reputation in the job market for which you should visit the institute and try and talk to the current batch students and get few of the alumnae contacts as well. This will give you a real picture about the institute.

As per your query, I would say that whichever college you studying, would surely assist you with companies for your training as OJT (On-the-job-training) is a mandatory part of curriculum for all professional programs.
Apart from the assistance that your college might provide, I would suggest you to keep a track of IT companies and also regularly make individual efforts so as not to loose in the end. Well there are good number of IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Cisco, HCL, Satyam and many more that take students for training process.
I would also advice you to start working on traits like confidence, communication, personality development, current affairs, time management as these are very important to strive out in any organization in order to secure confirmed placement with the same organization.
