As you are interested in Bachelors in Advertising, I would like to say that Advertising field requires a lot of creativity and innovation. In advertising one has to do a lot of research in order to study the demand of the product in the market, then you need to design the advertisement according to the target consumers depending upon the age group, gender etc. Thus making the advertisement field more interesting and challenging.
In order to get good job/placement, you need to have a few good projects in your portfolio and yes! your portfolio along with your creativity will play a vital role in fetching you a good job.
As far as money is concerned, both the fields offer decent salaries after 3-4 years of experience.

Well if you think that by dropping one more year you can score well in the CAT test and get admission in the colleges of your choice, then you may opt for a year drop.
However as you have already dropped an year for preparation, so if you get admission in a good college you may opt for admission.
Regarding selection of 2nd tier colleges I would suggest you to first of all shortlist the colleges and if possible you can personally visit the shortlisted institutes and talk to the students studying there, and take there feedback regarding faculty, teaching methodology, placements etc, all this will help you to take decision regarding which institute to join.

As per your academic profile pursuing MBA in finance would be the best option for you, however before opting for any specialization in MBA I would suggest you to first of all decide in which field you wish to build your career and accordingly you can select the best specialization as per your interest and liking.
Yes you can surely pursue MBA form abroad however in order to pursue MBA from good universities abroad you need to have atleast 3-4 years of full time work experience after graduation.

The GPT (General Proficiency Test) includes English comprehension & vocabulary, Mathematical Ability (12th standard Maths), Logical Reasoning & General Knowledge. The objective type test is conducted over a period of 60 minutes & has 60 questions, multiple choice (objective type) & there is negative marking.
The Design applicants also sit for DAT (Design Aptitude Test) that assesses the applicant's creative ability through drawing/sketching, visual communication skills & observation skills. The test is conducted over a period of 2 & a half hours.
