The placements usually depends on your capabilities. Generally the mass recruiting companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc., take a lot of students from the campus but if you're good with your coding skills and data structures then you can easily get into a good company with a package of around Rs 7-10 lakhs.

Not a chance. Forget about your XAT 2017 score and start preparing for CAT 2017 and XAT 2018. Even Tier 3 colleges require at least 60-70 %ile.

However, among the subjects, you mentioned Canada is one of the leading countries for game design and animation and professionals in this field are hugely in demand. So, I will prefer game designing. Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power. It will also help you to get in touch with basic vocab. Don't miss out the editorial page. Hi Prakhar, UPES is no doubt the better choice than XIME.
XIME was established in 2008 whereas UPES was established in 2003 also in terms of course structure, facilities, placements and faculty I think UPES is way ahead than any other private universities in India.
If you wish to apply in MBA, you should do it sooner as 8th July is the last date for admissions.
