Preparation requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books
*Start preparing well before time
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections early
*Cover the syllabus strategically. Don't go for a "prepare all" approach
*Balance all the papers
If you do not wish to continue with CA program, then look for some other course.
The B.Com. programme provides a good knowledge base for a range of careers. These are broadly of two types:
Those in business and finance such as company secretaryship (CS), cost and works accountants (CWA), banking and so on.
Others, including or related to finance, law. mass communication, hotel management, civil services, etc.
A commerce education can lead to jobs with corporations and banks as investment bankers, managers, financial consultants, accountants, advisers etc.
Accountancy is key in this field and if you are good with numbers, you can excel. Even if you have not cleared the IPCC. you can still get into finance-related careers through programs such as CWA and CS as well as diplomas in banking and finance, treasury management and financial planning offered by a number of institutes.
Commerce graduates can also take competitive examinations for recruitment to the civil services, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Economic Services and others.
After B.Com, you may also do an MBA, even if it is a correspondence programme, as long as it is from a recognized university. If you are interested in non-finance courses, there are any number of diplomas in fields such as mass communication, event management, and travel and tourism. Much depends on your interests and the field of work you wish to focus on.

Lovely Professional University National Eligibility and Scholarship Test LPU-NEST is conducted by Lovely Professional University (LPU). LPU NEST a university level examination is held once a year to admit candidates for the various programmes available in the university. It depends on which programme you want to take admission. In LPU, for some programmes LPU-NEST is mandatory to be eligible for a programme and for some, it is not. If LPU-NEST is mandatory for admission in your desired programme then you must go for it and qualify it. Only then you can get admission. LPU-NEST is an online test with no negative marking. (Fully MCQs). There are two chances for LPU-NEST. If somehow you are not able to qualify the test in the first attempt then you have second chance to go for it but within a limited period at the time of admissions. If LPU-NEST is not mandatory for the programme in which you want to take admission even though I would like to suggest you go for LPU-NEST because on the basis of it, you can also get a good amount of scholarship.
