The application fee for the UGC NET exam varies depending on the category of the candidate and the number of papers they are appearing for. The UGC NET application fees has been listed below for different categories:

a) General : INR 1150 

b) EWS, OBC NCL: INR 600 

c) SC, ST, PwD, Transgender: INR 325 

It is important to note that the application fee for UGC NET is subject to change, and candidates are advised to check the official notification released by the National Testing Agency NTA for the latest information on the application fee. The application fee can be paid online through various modes such as credit card, debit card, net banking, or e-challan. Candidates should note that the application fee is non-refundable, even if the candidate's application is rejected or they do not appear for the exam. Candidates are advised to pay the application fee before the deadline mentioned in the notification, as late fees are generally not accepted.

The prelims syllabus of RBI Assistant and IBPS Clerk is almost similar. The level of RBI Assistant is tough due to less number of vacancies. The level of the prelims exam for both the exams is easy. In Mains exam, IBPS Clerk have both Reasoning and Computers as a single section but in RBI Assistant exam these are separate sections. This means, candidates need to separately clear both of them. Quantitative Aptitude: Percentage, Time and Distance, Time and Work, Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Average, Profit & Loss, Data Interpretation, etc.

Reasoning: Number Series, Blood Relation, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Coding and Decoding, etc.

Computer Language: Languages, Basic Hardware and Software, History of Computers and Devices.

The UGC NET exam is not compulsory for pursuing a Ph.D. in India. However, it is important to note that many universities and research institutions in India consider UGC NET or similar exams such as CSIR NET as a qualifying criteria for admission to their Ph.D. programs. In addition, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has made it mandatory for Ph.D. candidates to have qualified in the UGC NET or similar exam to be eligible for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) during their Ph.D. programme. Therefore, while qualifying the UGC NET exam is not mandatory for pursuing a Ph.D. it can be beneficial for candidates who wish to pursue research as a career, as it can increase their chances of getting admission to top universities and research institutions.
