This are the minimum eligibility required:-The basic criterion of eligibility needed to be MET for admission to the course is a Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/ or Math as main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 55%. Yes, indeed you can. After all forensic science does include fields like biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics, microbiology which you would have studied already during your UG. This let you to pick up the subject sooner.

The universities, colleges, and institutes all of them providing education but the only difference is that basic difference is that universities provide depth knowledge while institutes provide applied knowledge, but the motive of all the three University vs College vs Institute is same. Getting a degree from a university is more valuable than getting a Certificate from an institute. Having said that there are many good institutes in India / abroad which are more popular than universities. For Distant Learning (if this is higher education (PG) to enhance career further - Institute is good). But, it all depends on the course
