You can pursue two types of diploma from VEDA IIT - VLSI Engineering and Design Automation, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad:-
1. Diploma in VLSI Logic Design which is a 4 Months, Full Time, Diploma. It includes, Digital Design, Advanced Digital Design, Contemporary VLSI Design, Verilog language and simulation, Unix Operating System, VI, PERL, Scripting language- PERL, ASIC Synthesis & design constraints
2. Diploma in VLSI Physical Design which is a 6 Months, Full Time, Diploma. It includes, Topics in Digital Design Module, CMOS design concepts, Layout, stick diagrams, reverse Eng FabricationPhysical design flow, Floor plan & Power plan, Placement & Optimization.
As per their claim, they provide placement. This you will have to verify yourself.

If you're creative, you can also consider going for Design and Animation. However, you must first check if you're suited for Animation. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this. Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. You have completed B.Tech. (CSE) but has 1 Backlog. So, I would suggest you to complete the paper and come with flying colours by providing complete dedication and time and effort for the same.
If you are through with preparation then think of any Professional Certification courses rather than thinking of a job. Because you can choose & select your dream job after completion of the degree and you shall feel accomplished.
If your financial position demands then going for a related work is fine (Job shall be suitable for you desirable areas in IT) so that I may gain weightage to your profile.

Dear Rohit, I just gave this answer to another person few minutes ago. I will again give the answer. Following are the eligibility criteria for GATE 2013 exam;-
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post-Diploma)- Final year or Completed
or
2. Master's degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent- Final year or Completed
or
3. Post-BSc Integrated Master's degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year programme)
or
4. B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/ AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India)- Completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses
Passed in the year 2012 or earlier: Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate / Course Completion Certificate has to be submitted.
Expected to complete in 2013 or later: Certificate from Principal is to be submitted. Candidates who have to submit a certificate from their Principal, have to obtain a signature from their principal on a certificate that will be printed on the application PDF file provided only after completion of online application submission. Therefore, this cannot be scanned and uploaded online.
Candidates with backlogs:
Candidates who have appeared in the final semester/year exam in 2012, but with a backlog (arrears/failed subjects) in any of the papers in their qualifying degree should submit
A copy of any one of the marks sheets of the final year, OR
A letter from the principal indicating that the student has a backlog from an earlier semester/year to be cleared, and therefore cannot produce a course completion certificate now. This certificate will also be present in the last portion of the PDF application form provided to you after you submit application online.
