Difficult to say, it xan be accepted if the university is flexible and if your academic standing is strong enough. Please write to them, they will evaluate and suggest as per their rules. If you don't have a very good percentage you should retake. Canadian universities also have foundation courses in English.

Hello Srihari, GATE is accepted by almost all of the government engineering colleges. The private universities conduct their own exams for PG admission and if you have appeared for GATE then they consider it, otherwise, they don't. So, private universities basically don't consider GATE score for PG admissions.

It is a good option. You must consider it given its small class size which will help you in directly connecting with the professors and also because of less number of students in a class professors will have more attention on the students.

If you're not interested in doing the engineering, then you may go for it. This is a good decision or bad one will be decided by your performance in future. It might be possible that you do very much good in your engineering career or even possible that opposite one happens. So, first of all, look upon your abilities and your strength, that for what purpose you are more suited of. Wish you will have a good decision and have a better future.
